Is a role where you can provide a safe and calm space for people suffering from mental health crisis appealing to you? We're looking for motivated, compassionate individuals to join our expanding First Response Service based in Suffolk.
The First Response Service is a helpline for people of all ages in Norfolk and Suffolk who need urgent mental health support. Our dedicated helpline is available all day, every day, and we need compassionate clinicians to join our existing multi-disciplinary team.
We are looking for people who see challenges as opportunities and will have the ability to influence, inspire and energise others, as well as work with people's strengths to make an all-round better working environment.
We are committed to developing people professionally and are keen to support individuals who are looking to take their first step into a more senior role.
"I have recently started with the team, and they have all been so welcoming and supportive. I feel that working within FRS, I can make a difference, by providing a kind ear, professional advice to callers and mentoring staff" If you'd like to come and make a difference to our local communities in a welcoming and supportive environment - apply today!
Main duties of the job
Our vision is to ensure that all service users, carers and professionals have access to a crisis service 24/7 that can provide support, advice and assessment in a compassionate, patient and recovery focused way. We believe that crisis is self-determined by the person or people experiencing the situation and that this requires an empathetic and non-judgmental approach, which holds those experiencing the crisis at the very centre.
Joining us as a senior crisis care practitioner, you can play a key role in turning our vision into reality!
This is an opportunity to grow your management skills, take on responsibilities and help us shape and grown our service. No two days will be the same, but they will include elements of working in an MDT team, providing telephone triage assessments and supporting and guiding service users through crisis in our contact centre.
You will have the opportunity to co-coordinate shifts, provide clinical oversight and support to practitioners, support with teaching and training opportunities, leading on staff development and be a visible role model that echoes the values of the trust and the vision of the service.
We are proud of our culture of honesty, team involvement and ownership of quality patient care with job satisfaction. There will be opportunities to be involved with training, strategy and service development.
