Are you a Learning Disability Nurse, Mental Health or Paediatric Nurse with CAMHS expertise? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our highly specialist community team supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, associated autism and or behaviours that challenge.
We are seeking an experience band 6 nurse who would like to develop specialist knowledge and skills in this field. You would be part of progressive and passionate team working working with a range of partner services including health education and social care to provide specialist mental health and behavioural intervention to young people and their families.
Main duties of the job
The LD CAMHS Team are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and innovative individual with the ability to join our acute service for Learning Disability. You will work closely with the Inpatient Service as part of a flexible workforce, providing assessment and interventions to support the team to identify the impact of learning disability on the individual's life and to support the team and the individual in ways that improve that person's quality of life.
About us
NSFT is engaged in a process of significant and exciting change with a new Suffolk-wide care group for Children, Young People and Families. Recent CQC inspection has shown improvements in the services which we plan to build on as we transform the CFYP service following the recent investment from NHSE and the CCG.
We have a new leadership structure and are engaged with internal and external transformation. NSFT in collaboration with alliance partners are striving to deliver a truly biopsychosocial approach within the 'Thrive' framework. This will require significant system changes across Suffolk to move towards a whole system approach.
This is an exciting time of Transformation of Children's and Young Peoples mental health services in Suffolk, creating opportunities for services to recognise and consolidate what they are doing well and also to drive creativity to radically change service delivery. The changes are locally driven, with the aim of embedding mental health services within the community.

You will work in collaboration with a range of interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary staff offering direct support to children, young people and their families.
You will need excellent communication and liaison skills in order to engage and collaborate with service users, families, colleagues and a range of professionals.
You will act as a professional advocate for young people to ensure their mental and physical health needs are met. Where required you will facilitate healthcare access with universal and specialist health services.
You will support access to emergency and crisis services in accordance with presenting risk.
