This is a great opportunity for a practitioner psychologist or psychological therapist to lead our adult community personality disorders pathway in Great Yarmouth and Waveney. We have several practitioners from diverse professional background who trained in dialectical behavioural therapy and have implemented DBT treatments across the community services. Our care group is committed to develop further a pathway that consistently delivers high quality services for people with personality disorders, with a strong focus on evidence-based, and needs typing based approaches.

The post holder will work under the supervision of a consultant practitioner psychologist in order to develop further, monitor, and deliver a pathway of evidence-based interventions for service users with a personality disorder.

The post holder will lead and supervise psychological professionals delivering psychological interventions for service users with personality disorders in the CMHTs and in the primary care network (PCN).

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver training to staff in CMHTs and PCN in order to develop awareness, formulation skills, and MDT interventions according to a stepped care approach.

The post holder will lead on rolling out training on needs typing and ensure that this approach is consistently used to deliver psychological care to service users with personality disorders.

The post holder will lead on the evaluation of personality disorders services across the CMHTs and PCN.

The post holder will provide individual and group psychological interventions for service users with personality disorders and complex mental health issues across the two CMHTs.

The post holder will provide clinical supervision to staff who are qualified and in training.

The post holder will be a key player in supporting a co-produced vision of services development, enabling and empowering service users to have equal voice in shaping up psychological services.

  • Specialist complex psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health problems, of varying severity and complexity
  • Relevant experience in service area
  • Extensive experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist and evidence of specialist knowledge gained through practice and ongoing training
  • Application of psychology/psychological therapies in different cultural contexts
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups and presenting problems including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems
