This is where you come in! We are seeking to recruit a Physical Health Nurse to join our team at Samphire Ward in Kings Lynn. You may be a Mental Health Nurse, a Learning Disabilities Nurse or a Registered Nurse with experience in Mental Health. We are looking to appoint nurses who can join our trust and bring with them fresh ideas and fresh ambition.Samphire Ward is a 16-bed acute admission ward housed in a purpose-built facility built in consultation with both staff and service users, this means staff focus much more on patient care rather than observing the environment.We are expecting ambitious people to apply for this role and we take a creative outlook on staff development. Through listening to your values and opinions, the team supports ongoing learning both internally and externally.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Physical Health Nurse you will be responsible for ensuring that all service users have the appropriate health checks, be involved in the developing person centred Physical Health care plans, health promotion and education of healthy life style choices, working closely with the Doctors to advise about Physical Health Interventions and any recommendations, attending Clinical Reviews to discuss cases, educating staff in physical health interventions, taking a lead on smoking cessation guidance and additional duties as specified. Working autonomously to devise training packages to deliver to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in physical health.

  • RGN, RN (Adult) or RMN, RN (MH) with Physical Health Interest

Desirable

  • Higher degree or post graduate certificate in physical health conditions, i.e wound care, tissue viability, chronic disease or willingness to obtain skills.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of medication and the monitoring of its effect - physical health conditions.
  • An understanding of the policies and guidelines both local and nationals (NICE, DH)
