Job summary

If so, the Suffolk Family Focus (SFF) Psychology Service is seeking to appoint a Band 8a Clinician (Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Systemic Family Therapist) to join its team of NHS Clinicians based within the Local Authority Directorate of Health, Wellbeing and Childrens Services.

The service was established in 2013, with the aim of increasing access to psychologically informed practice through consultation, training and direct work alongside staff from Early Help and Childrens Centres, Social Care and Children in Care teams. The service is highly valued locally and has been highlighted in the councils outstanding Ofsted rating.

Main duties of the job

The SFF Psychology Service includes members from a range of backgrounds (including Adult and CYP services) and draw on a range of therapeutic models in their work, including CBT, ACT, CAT, CFT, Trauma informed practice, Systemic, Attachment and Mentalisation-based approaches. The service is based within Suffolk County Council, with Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust as the employer. The post-holder will be supported by regular management and clinical supervision and access to a range of statutory and professional development training opportunities relevant to the role. You will be supported to develop your professional knowledge and skills through a network of psychologists and support services, such as the NSFT research department and links with the University of East Anglia.

  • Post-graduate degree or equivalent in Clinical psychology accredited by BPS

Desirable

  • Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychology practices

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working as a qualified psychologist and able to evidence appropriate knowledge and experience in practice.

Desirable

  • Experience of representing pschology within an MDT setting.
