Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for band 3 Maternity Support Workers to join our maternity unit, working within the Willow Team providing care and support in pregnancy and the immediate postnatal period for those with complex social factors or vulnerabilities. In this role you will work closely with service users who may include survivors of abuse, migrants/asylum seekers/refugees, substance misuse, learning disabilities or neurodivergent conditions.
We are looking to recruit as we develop and expand our maternity services. This is an exciting chance for experienced and enthusiastic senior support workers to join us as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide compassionate, personalised, and safe care - making a real difference to experience and outcomes.
This role requires someone who can work well using initiative, adapt to changing needs and demands, and who is responsible and reliable. You will work under the guidance and direct/indirect supervision of Registered Health Professionals, so must be a motivated individual who can also work well as part of a team. It is vital you can demonstrate excellent communication skills, an understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality, and a flexible approach to work.
Main duties of the job
To assist the midwife - across hospital, community, or other settings - in providing individualised, person-centered care through physical, social, and psychological support to women, birthing people, and their families throughout the pregnancy, birth, and postnatal journey.You will provide administrative support, prepare and maintain a safe environment, and implement basic care duties, performing delegated clinical procedures under the guidance and direction of the Midwives and practitioners from the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
