Senior Sister/Charge Nurse - Critical Care Unit Band 7 Permanent vacancy - 37.5 Hours per week

We are looking to appoint enthusiastic, motivated individual to lead a team of nurses to deliver high standards of nursing care in a 9 bedded Surgical and general critical care unit. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to support the management of the unit. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior nurse to advance their existing clinical knowledge and skills, as well as being an excellent managerial learning opportunity

Main duties of the job

To carry continuous responsibility and accountability for the managementof the ward/department, making effective use of resources and ensuringthe highest standards of patient care are achieved on a 24-hour basis.

To always act in a manner consistent with the NMC Code of ProfessionalConduct, carrying out his/her duties in accordance with Trust policies andprocedures.

To demonstrate expert knowledge and skills in the clinical area.

To lead, support, supervise and teach all staff, acting as a role model forthe staff with regard to professional behaviour and supporting the strategyfor nursing.

To proactively participate within the management of the Division, includingacting as senior nurse bleep holder for the division.

To maintain own clinical and professional development by keeping up todate with new trends and developments, interpret and incorporate them asnecessary in to your work
