Respiratory PhysiologistBand 6Permanent contractPart time - 22.5 hours per weekIn the Cardio-Respiratory Investigations unit at Tameside Hospital we are looking for an enthusiasticrespiratory physiologist to join our friendly team.The successful candidate will be a fully qualified respiratory physiologist with substantial post qualification experience (including within the NHS) and will play a key part in the ongoing development of the respiratory service for the Tameside & Glossop area.As an independent practitioner you will work autonomously, managing your own workload and being actively involved in implementing and developing practices. There will be opportunities to further develop your skills and in turn you will train others.
Main duties of the job
Perform a range of respiratory tests autonomously and to high standard obtaining good quality diagnostic information.
Including but not limited to;
o Spirometry
o Full lung function studies
o Lung volumes
o Gas transfer
o Reversibility of airways obstruction with bronchodilators
o Sleep studies
Produce accurate and comprehensive technical reports
Ensure all procedures are carried out according to local, national and international guidelines
Ensure all safety and infection control guidelines are followed, particularly with reference to (but not limited to) COVID-19
Ensuring calibration and QA procedures are adhered to by all staff
Document QA data for audit purposes
Actively participate in the development and implementation of respiratory techniques
Respond appropriately to urgent requests and situations
Maintain mandatory training requirements
