Job summary
Restaurant Assistant Band 2
The Postholder may work in the restaurant or the kitchen and is responsible for the service of food and maintaining the standard of service, cleanliness and hygiene in those areas. To be responsible for the taking of cash and maintaining necessary records as directed by supervisory staff, responsible for the preparation, service and clearing of functions. Responsible for the servicing of vending machine including, replenishing stock, cleaning & cash handling and completion of associated records relating to function work and the vending service.
Main duties of the job
The service of food from the hot plate to the table/customer.
The preparation and service of call order snacks, sandwiches or salads as required.
The operation of cash registers in accordance with policy and procedure.
Maintaining the prescribed portion control in the service of food & beverages to the customers.
The clearing of tables and hot plates during & after service as required.
To assist with the washing of crockery, cutlery and service equipment as necessary using the appropriate dishwashing machines and detergents.
Cleaning and stocking of beverage brewing machines and cold drinks dispensers.
Ensuring that all vending machines are stocked and cleaned regularly and good cash control is exercised for all machines.
Completing the associated documents to record items sold and cash collected from the vending machines.
Maintain a neat & tidy appearance at all times ensuring the use and wearing of personal protective clothing (inc. safety shoes) & equipment.
To assist in the thorough cleansing of the restaurant and associated areas including stores in accordance with the Trust's food Hygiene codes of Practice and local cleaning schedules.
To assist in the preparation work for the patient tray meal service.
