We are looking for someone to join our enthusiastic and motivated Emergency Department to start ASAP.

Working in the ED with direct shop floor supervision from our 11 consultants and 18 experienced ED middle grades. The post offers protected weekly departmental teaching and benefits from educational supervision by a consultant as well as many other educational opportunities on shift.

he post holder will work a full shift pattern including early, late and night shifts providing 24-hour cover with a 1 in 3 weekend commitment supported by ED consultants directly (0800-2400) and remotely (0000-0800) and a 24-hour consultant delivered trauma service. The shift pattern is new deal compliant with a 1A banding (subject to change to comply with new working practices).

This is demonstrated on a continuous basis by attitudes and behaviors which are supportive, helpful, non - blaming and friendly. The team approach is completely embedded in the department and all staff are wholly focused on providing a fast and effective patient service.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing direct clinical care to all patients
  • Formulate a diagnosis and develop a management strategy or plan for each patient
  • Provide patient management in accordance with Emergency Department protocols, practice standards and Trust policies
  • Provide clear and precise written and electronic documentation of patient care
  • Provide advice and support to junior doctors on all aspects of emergency medicine
  • Participate in the current shift rota pattern
  • Participate and lead on clinical audits
