Job summary
Technical Instructor, Adult Speech and Language Therapy Band 3 7 Month Maternity Cover 36 hours per week
Due to maternity leave, we are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic individual who enjoys working as part of a team. This role provides crucial support to the rest of the Adult Speech and Language Therapy team. It requires real enjoyment of working with a variety of people and interest in rehabilitation.
We would be happy to try and organise this as a secondment opportunity for someone already working in the Trust who is interested in gaining some further experience in therapy and rehabilitation. There may be some flexibility in the exact hours to be worked, please contact us to discuss.
We work with a wide range of adults with difficulties in communication (e.g. due to stroke); swallowing difficulties; voice disorders; stammering; and Head and Neck cancer. Our working environment is both Acute at Tameside General Hospital; and Community in service users' own homes, Care Homes or Intermediate Care Facility.
We are a supportive team, keen on patient centred care and service development.
Main duties of the job
To assist the speech and language therapist in their job by:
? Carrying out programmes of activities to rehabilitate an adult's speech andlanguage difficulties? Helping in the running of groups? Preparing materials
