Job summary

DOMESTIC SERVICES - COME AND JOIN OUR TEAM!

We have a large number of vacancies within our Community Domestic Department for full and part time roles, with a major emphasis on Flexible Working.

Theses vacancies will support our workforce to balance their work and home life, which we know is important to many of us.

Domestics have an important role in making sure that all areas in our Hospital and Community sites are clean and safe for our staff to care for our patients.

Specific roles below:

Union St - Hyde

Rowan House - Hyde

Hattersley Clinic - Hattersley

Ann street - Denton

Crickets Lane - Ashton Under Lyne

Dewsnap - Dukinfield

Mossley

Droylsden

Must be able to cover all clinics across Tameside

Candidate must be able to drive with full UK driving licence

Travel expenses will be paid

Availability between 06:00 to 22:00 is essential

Main duties of the job

Domestics are responsible for routine cleaning to be done on a daily and/or weekly basis as well as any emergencies such as spills. They are also responsible for carrying out regular, planned deep cleaning on a monthly or annual basis.

Domestics have an important role in making sure that all areas in our Hospital are clean and safe for our staff to care for our patients. Their duties include:Dusting, using spray/liquid cleaners, cleaning hard floors with mops or electric floor cleaners, using vacuum cleaners or carpet cleaners & cleaning toilet and bathroom areas

Domestics are responsible for cleaning in non-clinical (offices) and clinical (wards/clinics) areas within the community sites.

You will need good communication skills and you should have a helpful & polite manner when interacting with patients & relatives. You will need to show dignity and respect to our staff and patients when cleaning on the wards and clinics.

SECTION 1 - MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:General To perform domestic duties including: General cleaning High and low dusting Wet and dry mopping Vacuum Cleaning Scrubbing floors with mechanical machine Polishing floors with mechanical machine Emptying clinical and general waste bins and placing bags in designated areas Cleaning and descaling of toilets and sanitary areas Curtain changing taking curtains down and re-hanging Cleaning baths, taps and showers Isolation cleaning Carpet shampooing Stripping and sealing of floors using a floor machine and scrubbing pad, mop and bucket, sucking up machine and stripping chemical following instructions given by the Domestic Supervisor Strip and make beds Present an efficient, high quality domestic service to patients and staff within the hospital. To follow cleaning procedures and frequencies. To operate mechanical equipment i.e. floor machines, sucking up machines, vacuum cleaner, carpet shampooer, steam cleaner. To co-operate when new methods of work/frequencies of cleaning are introduced following instruction. Respond to rectifications following audits within a given timescale. Inform Supervisor of requirements for work materials and check delivery of cleaning supplies and equipment. To empty and remove refuse, general and clinical and store and label in designated collection points. To replenish all disposables, hand towels, toilet rolls and soaps. To check the health and safety of domestic equipment and to report any hazards or potential hazards to the Domestic Supervisor. To adhere to all Method statements and Operating Procedures To be responsible for reporting all accidents and incidents to the Domestic Supervisor. To ensure that a clean protective uniform is worn at all times when on duty and to use relevant Personal Protection Equipment in accordance with the Trust policy. To report any signs of infestation to the Domestic Supervisor. To work in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines in the correct use of chemicals. To follow instructions issued by the Domestic Supervisor when undertaking curtain changing on wards and departments safely
