Consultant Radiologist Clinical - Consultant - 10PA's

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and committed individual to join the Department of Radiology as a general radiologist. There will be requirement to attend multi disciplinary meetings, dependent on sub specialty interests, as well as offering specialist advice and support to our team of Advanced Practitioner Radiographers and clinician colleagues. Applicants should have a wide experience in routine diagnostic radiological procedures, medical ultrasound, CT, fluoroscopy and MR.The Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Imaging comprises a Remote ObstetricUltrasound unit, Ground Floor and Lower Ground Floor X-ray departments.

Main duties of the job

  • To be a General Consultant, although specialist interest is welcomed, and to provide imaging and interventions across all imaging modalities.
  • To provide radiological expertise and support MDT along with your consultant Colleagues
  • To provide Radiology Services at Tameside General Hospital in co-operation with the other Consultant Radiologists, having responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and the proper functioning of the department.
  • o provide cover for consultant colleagues' periods of leave as appropriate.
  • To carry out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and to contribute to post-graduate and continuing medical education activity, locally and nationally.
  • To participate in Clinical Governance processes including clinical/medical audit, continuing medical education, learning and discrepancy meetings, Peer review and annual Consultant Appraisals.
  • To undertake research as deemed appropriate.
  • To undertake work, as agreed between the parties, on behalf of the Trust, such as domiciliary consultations or services provided by the Trust for other agencies e.g. the Prison Service

Essential

  • MB ChB/BS or EEA equivalent
  • FRCR or EEA equivalent
  • Eligible for CCHST in Radiology
  • Full & current GMC registration

Training

Essential

  • Have satisfactorily completed a recognised course of training, as specified by the Royal College of Radiologists

Experience

Essential

  • Appropriate training in conventional radiology and other imaging modalities for entry onto the Specialist Register
