Band 8a - Lead Nurse - Colposcopy Part time 30 hours per weekPermanent contractWe have an exciting opportunity for an accredited and experienced Colposcopy Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Gynaecology service at Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care Foundation Trust.
This role provides leadership for our colposcopy nursing service. You will oversee the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care, lead on improving the outcomes and experiences for patients using the service, and ensure that patients are placed at the centre of care delivery.
We are looking for an experienced hysteroscopy nurse with British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy accreditation, with additional specialist skills in colposcopy and have the Accredited Nurse Hysteroscopist course.

Main duties of the job
Duties will include the following:-Lead and co-ordinate the delivery and development of the Colposcopyservice using effective evidence-based practice online with agreed nationalstandards for patient safety and clinical practice.-Support progress against the key performance indicators-Work with the Lead Colposcopist, Head of Nursing and wider team incolposcopy to support the development and delivery of the cervicalscreening service in accordance with NHS England Service specifications.-Responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of theSpecialist Gynaecology Outpatient department on a day-to-day basis-Provide senior clinical leadership, expertise, advice, and support to thenursing and wider multi-professional team to facilitate the effective delivery of care to patients at all times.-The post holder will provide clinical and professional advice at ClinicalService Unit and Divisional level.
As a Nurse Colposcopist/Hysteroscopist you will have an extensive theoretical and practice knowledge and experience of the clinical skills required within the outpatient gynaecology service

Clinical Duties and Patient Care
- Undertake nurse-led outpatient colposcopy as an independent and autonomous practitioner working in conjunction with the Lead Colposcopist, other Nurse Colposcopist(s) and consultant team for the service and within NHS Cervical Screening Programme (CSP) guidelines and protocols.
- Undertake nurse-led outpatient hysteroscopy clinics as an independent and autonomous practitioner working in conjunction with other Nurse Hysteroscopists and consultant team within Trust guidelines and protocols.
- Manage patient case load with own professional competence, request patient investigations, analyse results and prescribe patient care and monitor outcomes, monitor treatment compliance, and advise on modifications to treatment within agrees guidelines.
- To provide the highest standard of safe, effective, equitable and compassionate care through the effective use of evidence-based practice in line with agreed local and national colposcopy and hysteroscopy standards and the NMC Code.
- Have an in-depth knowledge and awareness of womens health issues.
- Provide a continuously improving service in line with the clinical governance framework, Trust objectives and the NHS performance network.
- Act as the patients advocate in all matters relating to care, treatment and welfare acknowledging and incorporating cultural preferences, health beliefs and behaviours.
