The post holder will play a key role in developing a partnership relationship between the clinical teams and the Estates and Facilities staff group, identifying potential problems and finding solutions. The post holder will be an effective communicator and an excellent team worker.
This is a new and exciting role for the Trust and represents and exciting new challenge for the right candidate

Main duties of the job
The Estates & Facilities Matron (E&FM) will have lead responsibility for ensuring a patient focussed operational Estates and Facilities Management service is provided by the Directorate across the organisation from an Estates and Facilities perspective.
The E&FM will support the provision of high quality, safe and effective patient care and continuous improvement of the patient experience by providing effective, professional nurse leadership across the Trust.
The E&FM will participate in Environmental Audits, PLACE, CQC and other statutory inspections as required in relation to the Estates and Facilities agenda.
The E&FM will take lead responsibility for the Directorates interface with infection control and any actions required to address infection control issues across the organisation, including attending and supporting Estates and Facilities colleagues at IPC meetings.
The E&FM will play a key role in the implementation of a number of nursing initiatives, with focus for the development and sustaining of a culture of continuedlearning and improvement amongst all staff groups, but with particular focus upon nursing, and being visible across wards and departments.
The E&FM will support the Directorate at meetings, such as SQAG to give assurances on the Directorates work

- Be an active part of the Senior Management Team.
- Have frequent visible contact with stakeholders providing feedback, ensuring that concerns that are raised are dealt with quickly and efficiently, ensuring excellent and effective communication takes place and liaison with the correct departments.
- Establish and maintain communication with appropriate stakeholders on potentially complex topics in a range of situations.
- To collaborate with staff groups in a manner that is understandable and is likely to achieve engagement.
- The post-holder will provide clinical leadership which inspires and motivates others and will empower staff to ensure they have the authority and support they need to improve patient care, and to resolve clinical issues such as discharge delays and environmental problems.

- The post-holder will be responsible for standards of environment cleanliness in line with the NHS Cleaning Standards 2021 influencing the reduction of hospital acquired infections and safe practice.

- Working with the infection prevention control team and departmental colleagues to provide assurance from the division that the correct strategies are in place to reduce the risk of nosocomial infection.
