Senior Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia - 12 months fixed term
Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking applications to appoint a Clinical Fellow in the Anaesthetic Department. This appointment is for an initial period of 12 months. The Consultant Team will carry out a Clinical and Educational Performance Review towards the end of the first year and the contract will be extended for a further 12 months. The post holder will be based solely at Tameside General Hospital at this time, but it is possible that you will be required to cover work at a sister hospital as part of Healthier together programme. Candidates will be expected to have at least 2 to 3 years experience in Anaesthetics.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide support on the middle grade rota and also support the Consultants and Trainees including clinical work and operating lists, at times independent of direct supervision. To work to sustain the provision of an efficient Anaesthetic Service to patients, including ensuring, in conjunction with colleagues, the highest quality of care is provided to each individual patient in meeting and delivering its local and national targets.
Clinical Fellows in Anaesthetics also form part of the 2nd on call rota covering Maternity and ITU and on occasions 1st on Call.

We are eagerly looking for alterative working patterns to ensure we are able to provide equitable 7-day service within our Critical Care Unit and these included regular rostered weekend shifts day and nights, as well as a Nocturnist job plan.
Job contract will require you to cover ITU, Maternity and providing Anaesthesia in Theatres with sessions for on call as follows:
- Prospective Weekend / weekdays on call shifts
- Prospective 1 SPA session
- There will be ample free days agreed mutually
- The rota will run as per shift rota and will be given in advance
- On calls will be in ITU/MAT/ 1st on as needed by department but will be a relatively even spread
- Prospective Shift Rota 08:00 to 20:30 and 20:00 to 08:30 to allow for handover
- Prospective Shift Rota for weekend 08:00 to 20:30 and 20:00 to 08:30 to allow for hand over
