An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as an Area Business Manager across NWAS. The role will be an integral part of the Service Delivery Leadership team across Paramedic Emergency Service (PES) and Non Emergency Patient Transport Services (PTS) across each of the Areas.
These are new roles that has been created within the service delivery Team which will contribute to the overall management of service development, transformation and business/ resource planning in keeping with the Trusts' strategic objectives, annual and other plans.
Working in alignment with the Area based leadership team you will ensure performance management is firmly embedded into the Area's culture. You will take a key role in the development and management of an Area's business performance (activity and finance), intelligence, and service development.
The role will involve working autonomously, as part of the wider service delivery team and also working closely with a range of corporate teams.
There are three roles with one role reporting to each of our Area Directors, this will mean that successful candidates would work within an identified NWAS area (GM, CAM or CAL).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work to support the Area Director to ensure that their workstreams of activities are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery, working with key stakeholders internally and in the wider local NHS environment.
The post holder will be responsible for managing ongoing projects and deliverables, preparing status, assurance reports, and support the execution of the area plans.
The post holder will have line management responsibility for the area based rostering staff, and where necessary, area based administrations teams as agreed with the Area Director.
The post holder will need to have proven experience in business management, finance and understand NHS governance and project management.
To work with the Area leadership team to continuously review services improving performance, driving the delivery of change/ improvement programmes.
To develop shared objectives promoting a culture of collaborative working and empowering staff to achieve both performance and transformational change initiatives.
Able to work confidently and efficiently with minimum supervision.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
