Sector Clinical Lead

Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Sector Clinical Lead to join our South Lancashire Sector leadership team. The successful candidate will be an experienced HCPC registered Paramedic who holds a relevant master's degree qualification or has substantially demonstratable experience of working at this level in a similar role or setting.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the area Consultant Paramedic, the Sector Clinical Lead is the subject matter expect, as a senior clinical lead embedded within the Sector operational leadership team. The role provides oversight of clinical supervision for ambulance teams and ensures processes are in place that support new qualified and experienced clinicians to provide high quality patient care.

The Sector Clinical Lead also leads on high level clinical investigations, including the enactment of duty of candour. Taking forward learning identified at system and individual level and providing a clinical link for complex case and patient safety event reviews as part of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework.

The Sector Clinical Lead also works collaboratively with partners at place level, to support the development of clinical care pathways and contributes to population health improvement. Monitoring the implementation of clinical pathways and procedures and through education and professional development, working with Sector teams to progress clinical care delivery.

Assessment Centre and Professional Discussion are currently planned for 8th July 2025 but this date may change, successful candidates will be kept updated of any changes.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
