Main duties of the job
As a registered Mental Health Nurse we will train you to use advancedtelephone triage skills and make clinical decisions; thus providing patientswith appropriate care pathways which may not necessarily be transport to atreatment facility.NWAS is passionate about providing the best for its staff through a clear andsupportive career framework and there will be on-going professional supportand opportunities for successful applicants.This role will allow the post holder to contribute to the development of thewider Urgent Care agenda within the Trust by supporting the development ofUrgent Care Services, care pathways and clinical triage systems. The postholder will also be involved in the delivery of clinical supervision andmentorship to peers.The Post is available at our Emergency Operations Centres at Parkway(Manchester) or Estuary Point (Liverpool).

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Essential
- Member of the Health Professions Council (HPC) or member of the Nursing & Midwifery Council (UK)
- Registered Paramedic or General \Mental Health Nurse
Desirable
- Emergency Care Practitioner/Nurse Practitioner (or equivalent) or Level 6 Telephone Triage and Assessment Module Formal mentoring qualification
- Level 6 Academic Module (related to clinical assessment) or commitment to complete within the stipulated academic timescales
Skills, knowledge and experience

- Minimum of 2 years post registration experience
- Excellent knowledge of Pre-hospital Care Provision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Evidence of CPD
- Ability to effectively work as a team

- Experience of audit and evaluation
- Leadership skills
- Ability to promote and manage change
