Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Regional Directory of Services (DoS) team supporting the administration of the team.

The Regional DoS team works as part of the wider digital team in the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) within the Quality, Improvement and Innovation Directorate. This role will involve working autonomously and as part of a team to provide assurances around the accuracy of the information populated to the national Directory of Services, working with the team that holds accountability for the North West region.

The role will have responsibility to the Regional DoS Lead and will require working with the national DoS team, NHS England, ICBs, Commissioners and local DoS Leads as well as maintaining key stakeholder relationships in 111, 999, operations, system information teams and critical systems teams.

Main duties of the job

The overall purpose of the role is to support the team to obtain and provide assurances that all commissioned services and commissioner arrangements are accurately reflected on the Directory of Services. This in turn facilitates users of NHS Pathways, PaCCS, NHS 111 Online, Streaming and Redirection tool and NHS Service Finder to get appropriate service recommendation, which ensures safe and timely patient referrals across the Integrated Urgent and Emergency Care system. The post-holder will be expected to embody the concept of integrated working across organisation and professional boundaries and work with NHS organisations to support and promote the achievement of a truly Integrated Urgent Care system and contribute to the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan's outcomes.

The post holder will have excellent communication skills and be an expert in MS Office applications. The post holder will also need the ability to work flexibly in an environment where the work pattern is unpredictable and requiring frequent periods of concentration to meet objectives to tight deadlines.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
