FM Officer - Operations - Band 4

The Facilities Management (FM) department are looking for an officer to join them and provide an effective, comprehensive and confidential range of services to the trust.

The FM Officer will assist with the safe, smooth and efficient running of various sites across the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

We are seeking a tenacious individual who has experience within FM and can provide effective delivery of facilities and services both at our corporate sites as well as stations we remotely serve.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrable record of achieving results through collaborative working and maintaining standards through proactive co-ordination, monitoring and reporting.

Main duties of the job

This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic team player who has a track record of delivering excellent customer service and has an FM background.

Applicants will be expected to set the standards to be attained for Facilities Assistants based at Corporate Sites and provide ongoing support, training and resilience for FM teams.

Also, take lead on all operational aspects of fire safety management at sites in scope ensuring robust testing and inspection regimes are carried out competently, actions arising are followed through and records are maintained.

Applicants will be required to identify maintenance, repairs, and minor new works across the trust within scope agreed or as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures and to provide a safe and pleasant environment for colleagues and visitors.

About us

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Qualifications and Education

Essential

  • BTEC or equivalent qualification in Facilities Management and/or experience (minimum two years in similar role)
  • Qualification in Technical drawing or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of English & Mathematics GCSE at grade C or above

Desirable

  • Good working knowledge of fire safety regulations and application of robust testing and inspection regimes to support site specific fire risk assessments
