An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Technology Support Engineer to proactively support and maintain the Trust's mobile and field-based technology and communications equipment.
The successful candidate will also provide support for other equipment on the vehicle, on station and for personal issue, including but not limited to:

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will monitor the NWAS ICT Service Desk system (Marval) for faults reported and assigned to the Vehicle Communications Team and respond appropriately, performing fault diagnosis onsite and repair or replace faulty equipment.
You will also be required to support the Vehicle Communication Systems Engineer and Team Manager in the de-installation and re-installation of vehicle technology, into and out of, vehicles across the Trust, working to strict and controlled quality standards, in accordance with Trust technical guidance. This is to include new and replacement vehicles, as well as the decommissioning of written off vehicles.
As the most visible members of the ICT team, the Field Technology Support Engineers must expect to receive and deal with adhoc requests or complaints from frontline staff whilst onsite.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

- Educated to college level (eg HNC/Diploma) in an appropriate technical subject or equivalent relevant professional experience in a vehicle technology environment.
Desirable
- Industry based technical qualification.
Training
Essential
- MS Office, including Excel.
- Willing to undertake training in order to fulfil the requirements of the job - may include external training. This will include bespoke training accreditation for Ambulance specific systems.
Desirable
- ITIL Foundation.
- Working at Height/Ladder training.
Specialist Knowledge and Experience

- Significant experience of supporting and maintaining iPads/Tablet Devices, Smart Phones, Sat Navs and Wi-Fi.
- Proven practical experience of installation and maintenance of vehicle Technology.
- Experience of logging and maintaining job records through a formal Service Desk structure.
- Experience of prioritising own workload and working to set time parameters (SLAs), handling many issues simultaneously.
- Experience of handling confidential information.
- Experience of IT Asset Management.
- Proven experience of working with Mobile Device Management Systems to support asset management, device security and configuration.
