Job summary
This is a post ideally suited to a newly qualified Dietitian or a current Band 5 who would like to expand their experience.
On rotation the post will support other Band 5 Dietitians working across Bolton Foundation Trust to provide inpatient and outpatient services.
The rotation will include Acute Medical, Elderly, Paediatrics Cardiology, Diabetes, General Surgical, and Orthopaedics with an initial rotation in Paediatrics.
Main duties of the job
Assess and prioritise referrals and act appropriately
Assess individual patient's nutritional status and requirements
Assess individual patient's dietary intakes
Formulate and communicate dietary advice appropriate for individuals and groups
Assess the need for, and planning and monitoring of enteral and parenteral feeding regimens including requesting blood biochemistry when appropriate
Make decisions on initiating and amending nutritional treatment care plans with the guidance of senior dietitians if required
Check and order supplies of feed/supplements for the wards, liaising with pharmacy
Keep records in line with HCPC and Trust requirements
You will need to be flexible in your working pattern to meet the needs of the client group who are seen in a variety of settings such as Royal Bolton Hospital, Outpatient venues across Bolton, GP surgeries, Health Centres, Schools and Patient homes.
