Job summary
The main objective of the role is to facilitate flow and discharges with medical, surgical, A&E admissions and elective admissions , organisation of all internal transfers and external transfers and repatriations to and from other Trusts. The post holder must have excellent communication skills as coordination with a number of different departments is an essential part of the role. The post holder must demonstrate clinical excellence in contributing to the management of patients and develop strong working relationships with various teams including the Emergency Department.
The successful candidate must have an understanding of the A&E government targets and current issues that can affect the timely flow of patients through the hospital and appropriate operational process.

Would you like to be part of one of the best performing Trusts in Greater Manchester? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 6 Bed Manager at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
This post will be internal rotation providing a 24/7 service. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and well organised person to work as a bed manager in an extremely fast paced moving environment. You must be dedicated to delivering a high standard of care and optimising patient safety, by placing the right patients, in the right place, at the right time whilst maintaining privacy and dignity. You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and develop your skills and knowledge.
The post holder will be able to co-ordinate and collate real time information on current and predicted bed availability and facilitate the effective use of acute hospital and community wide bed capacity.
The post holder will work independently, using their own initiative/ judgement. This role is central to the flow of patients within the Trust and meeting the national waiting times for the emergency department and elective patients.
The successful candidate will have a sound clinical background with effective decision making skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
