Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring, self-motivated individual to join Bolton NHS Foundation Trust's Digital Team as Senior Project Manager on a fixed term basis.

The team are a group of staff from a number of disciplines and backgrounds and we will expect you to be ready to hit the ground running working together with them and clinical colleagues to lead the delivery of a number of our key projects within the Digital Programme.

Main duties of the job

The demands and scale of the projects you will work on will vary but we will look to you to utilise the following: experience of delivering large scale change; skills to manage competing demands; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities; response to short deadlines; effective communication to all stakeholders, flexibility to take on all tasks within a project and your ability to quickly build strong working relationships.

You will work across health and care settings to deliver digital transformation to patients, clinicians and support functions. Managing a project and seeking opportunities to deliver benefit to our staff and thrive on diversity of work. You may find yourself presenting to project boards, briefing groups, facilitating process mapping workshops, drawing process maps, preparing business cases, defining project scope, developing the project plan, completing project documentation and producing highlight reports.

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
  • Prince II Project management qualification

Desirable

  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
  • Member of relevant professional body

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in IM&T / Informatics.
  • Experience of managing NHS Projects
  • Experience of developing business cases for strategic IM&T investment.
  • A proven ability to work effectively and sensitively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience monitoring budgets and business planning processes reporting status and issues to the Project Board.
  • Experience in the process and identification of benefits realisation.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of NHS informatics and business requirements.
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies applicable to health and clinical practice.
  • Experience of working at or very close to Board level.
  • Experience of working on projects that deliver efficiency savings.
  • Experience of managing relationships with other organisations (suppliers / customers)
