Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this dynamic and innovative community team providing specialist assessments and interventions for children and young people who have a Learning Disability, their families and carers.

Applicants are invited for the post of Band 6 Learning Disability Nurse within the Paediatric Learning Disabilities Service in Bolton.

Applicants are required to be an experienced Registered Nurse (Learning Disability), RNLD and have a full driving licence with use of own car.

Successful applicants will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Applications from overseas Nurses -The Trust appreciates and values the contribution international nurses bring to the NHS. We also understand the support overseas nurses need to gain full registration once in the UK (via OSCE) and therefore we only recruit internationally to fill nursing vacancies when we can ensure support is in place. At this present time we aren't in a position to offer that support and therefore will not accept applications from overseas nurses who only have Part 1 NMC registration. If that position changes in future we will clearly advertise our opportunities for international nurses to join our nurse team here in Bolton. Thank you for your understanding.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for enthusiastic and confident applicants who show a commitment to the delivery of high quality services in a variety of community settings, with individuals, carers and families. The applicant will be able to provide specialist assessments, carry out interventions, and give advice to our service users and other agencies to empower and build resilience as well as to carry out senior nurse responsibilities such as being the duty nurse and supervision junior staff.

The service works to promote the health and wellbeing of the children and young people that are referred to the service, developing opportunities to meet identified health outcomes in order for the children and young people to be included in all aspects of their school and family life.
