Job summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated EDMS Configuration Specialist to join the team at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust as part of the Maternity EPR Deployment. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing transition to a fully digitised system, ensuring that our maternity services are equipped with the right resources to support both staff and patients effectively. Main duties of the job

  • Work on the configuration, optimisation, and ongoing maintenance of the EDMS system to meet operational and clinical needs.
  • Collaborate with the EPR Configuration Team to ensure business continuity across both systems and maintain accurate continuity reports.
  • Provide expert support to clinical and operational teams, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise during the go-live and optimisation phases.
  • Offer guidance and training to staff on the use of the EDMS, ensuring that the transition is smooth and staff are confident in using the system.
  • Ensure that all documentation within the EDMS is retrievable, structured correctly, and adheres to Trust standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement, design new processes, and contribute to the ongoing development of the digital systems in maternity services.

  • Educated to degree or above or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of a range of Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, and in particular Excel
  • Evidence of continuous learning

Desirable

  • Advanced knowledge of IT literacy with Microsoft
  • Qualification in IT Systems Lifecycle Methodology or significant practical experience

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of managing organisational change & in the improvement of business processes.
  • Knowledge and expertise in a range of hospital processes and practices.
  • Knowledge of clinical systems in a healthcare environment
  • Extensive knowledge, experience in the use of an electronic clinical system.
  • Extensive knowledge, experience in the use of an electronic clinical system. Ability to identify potential problems/issues and apply effective problem solving methodologies

  • Knowledge of NHS Informatics and business requirements.
