Support Secretary - Band 3
Full-time 37.5 hours per week.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and well organised individual to join our friendly team as Support Secretary.
The successful applicant will require previous secretarial experience in a healthcare environment and have excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be able to cope well under pressure and have a good understanding of the patient pathway. You should enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team and be confident liaising with patients, medical staff, general practitioners and referring hospitals.
The post holder will be expected to organise their workload and duties accordingly, in such a way to make a direct and positive contribution to the service, exercising initiative and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role will be to provide support to the Senior Medical Secretaries within the department. Day to day responsibilities will include the typing of clinical correspondence, tracking investigations, answering telephones etc. You will also assist colleagues within the business unit but also the division during times of leave/sickness.
