We have an exciting opportunity within Bolton's 0-19/ 25 Children's Integrated and Well-being service, Public Health Nursing Service for training of Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHN) within Health Visiting

The primary aim of specialist practice is toimprove health outcomes and reduce health inequalities for children, young people and their families living in Bolton.

As a student SCPHN, you will gain invaluable evidenced based experience supporting young people, families and communities, including early intervention and safeguarding.

To support your success, you will be allocated a Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisors within the Public Health Nursing Service. These practitioners work closely with the Academic Institute providing support from theory to practice.

Following successful completion of the course you will be registered on Part 3 of the NMC register and be to apply for the role of a Band 6 Health Visitor.

Interviews will be held on 23rd September 2024. Please note the job advert may close earlier, dependents on the number of application received. Those invited to interview must attend in person and will not be offered any other date.

Main duties of the job

The training is a twelve -month, full time course combining both study and practice within university and practice placements. The course is undertaken at Level 7 study at the University of Bolton . Applicants will be required to have 120 academic credits at degree level-level 6 study .

We are looking for a colleague with effective communication skills to engage and empower children, young people and families. This will include collaborating with families and relevant professionals whilst being professional and reflecting the NMC Code of Conduct.

You will also be a reliable team player who utilises problem solving approaches as these are aligned to community working and public health nursing.
