Job summary
The Royal Bolton Hospital has been developed as the district general hospital for the area and serves a catchment population of 320,000 which includes the Bolton Metropolitan Borough as well as parts of Atherton, Leigh and Walkden. The hospital has all the specialties found in a large acute district general. There is a divisional structure system in operation. ENT is a department within this structure and is part of the Anaesthetics and Surgical Services Division. The post holder will report to the Clinical Lead, Mr Simon Hargreaves and be accountable to the Divisional Medical Director, Miss Angela Volleamere.
We are looking for the following individuals (the post holders will also be part of the dedicated out of hours oncall service):
(1) A Paediatric fellowship trained individual who will help lead the delivery of the paediatric service with a sub specialist interest which compliments into the requirements of the Bolton ENT department.
(2) A Rhinology trained individual who will help deliver the Rhinology and general service.
The post holders will join a team of ENT surgeons who provide a range of subspecialty services including otology, rhinology, paediatric and laryngology.
Main duties of the job
The principle role of the post-holder is to be an active member of the ENT Team. The post-holder is expected to take a team approach to relationships with other departments, clinic and theatre staff.
A computer with internet access and a shared office will be provided.
Indicative work pattern:
- Outpatient clinics (TBC)
- Theatre sessions (TBC)
- On-call commitments (approx. 1 weekday and 1 in 11 weekends *Subject to change)
- Supervising medical and nursing colleagues
