Job summary

We are expanding our imaging team to support expansion of our services with our future plans for a Community Diagnostic Centre.

We are looking for a QSI Accreditation Lead to join us at this exciting time. This is a new post to support the Operational Business Manager, Quality & Governance Lead for Imaging and DSSD Governance Lead in ensuring that systems and processes, Standard Operating Procedures, guidelines, policies and procedures are implemented and monitored in order to achieve governance, assurance and quality objectives set out in the QSI standards. It will the primary goal for the post holder to ensure that the department achieve QSI accreditation as part of the CDC programme at the Bolton Hospital site.

The post holder will ensure that all aspects of our services operate within robust clinical governance and quality assurance guidelines. They will also undertake regular audit of standards and performance as well as the writing of relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). Optimum patient care will be achieved whilst working within the strict Radiation Protection guidelines governed by the Royal College of Radiologists, the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations, IR(ME)R, the Ionising Radiation Regulations, IRR2017 and the local support offered by the Radiation Protection Advisor at the Medical Physics department of the Christie Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The post holder must have significant experience of radiology departments and/or the expertise to advise on all aspects of governance, how it relates to all users and employees of the service. Consideration will also be given to candidates with experience and knowledge of clinical governance and/or project management experience within the NHS. They will work closely with all the modalities to ensure that the most efficient and effective service provision is given.

The post holder will be the departments representative at both departmental and divisional governance meetings, each held monthly. This provide reports and assurance on the Radiology departments clinical quality and the delivery of safe/compassionate service, risk and incident assessment and management, patient experience and information governance.

Quality standards of imaging (QSI) will be achieved by the implementation, monitoring and continuation of performance and technical management processes which involves radiologists and radiographers of all grades across all sites. This 360-degree feedback and education process will be overseen and developed by the post holder. Updates on the progress on accreditation with be reported to the divisional team.
