Job summary
Reporting to the Business Intelligence Team Leader, the post holder will provide in-depth, specialist information, reports and recommendations by analysing highly complex, multi stranded data to support and direct senior management in their decision-making processes.
Operating with significant autonomy, the post holder will lead on analysis focused on specific key areas and will be expected to bring together a wide range of data sources into the data warehouse, deliver and drive appropriate national mandatory and statutory reporting requirements.
While the BI team supports agile working, it is expected that for this role you will be based in the office a minimum of two days per week, as there is an expectation of face to face meetings along with training and ongoing development.
The post holder will represent the Business Intelligence function at senior level meetings, both internally and externally.
The successful candidate will have experience within Business Intelligence (or an Information Team) and will possess excellent communication skills, good team qualities and technical skills (in particular SQL and SSRS) that they are looking to develop further.
Main duties of the job
Below are some of the high level responsibilities of the role:
- To make Intelligence into data by using a variety of analytical skills including data manipulation, data interpretation, data visualisation and appropriate methods of statistical analysis.
- Able to communicate insightful Intelligence in numerous different styles and mediums and to different levels of staff.
- To produce high level strategic and performance analysis, necessary to meet the delivery of national and local monitoring requirements in line with relevant NHS guidance and the delivery of modernised, evidence based services throughout the organisation.
- Ensure that local and national performance targets are effectively monitored and delivered by setting up robust data analysis reports
- Provide specialist knowledge and expertise across many areas of NHS information and policy, proposing changes where necessary
- Develop and produce timely and accurate information, reports and analysis to support the delivery of clinical care, operational management and decision making, performance management and service level agreements. Resulting in provision of better care provided to service users.
- Ensure that Statutory and Mandatory returns and submissions that are key organisational requirements are delivered in a timely manner with appropriate review and scrutiny.
