An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paediatric Specialist Doctor to join our dynamic team at the Royal Bolton Hospital to help further develop our Acute Paediatric services for 12 months.

The Family Division aims to deliver the highest standards of care for maternity, sexual health, gynaecology and a range of acute and community children's services. The Division is a Centre of Excellence for Women's and Children's services and has a credible and enviable reputation. We deliver over 6,000 babies and carry around 1500 gynaecological procedures each year, making us a specialist provider of health services for women, babies and their families in the North West Sector of Manchester and beyond.
Main duties of the job
A job plan will be discussed and agreed on appointment, but would be expected to include contribution to the Tier 2 rota, with out of hours work supported by a non-resident consultant, contribution to the Tier 3 (consultant) hot-week rota and 1 outpatient clinic per week (Tier 3) covering new and follow up patients in general paediatrics. You will be responsible for the care of patients admitted to inpatient services on the days that you are on hot week.
Contribution to separate Tier 3 rotas for safeguarding, rapid access clinics and assessment unit cover may also be included.
You will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
This post does not include any work in neonatal intensive care, or in community paediatrics although the separate teams continue to enjoy a close working relationship.
It is anticipated that the post holder will have experience in working in a wide range of specialties in general paediatrics in UK hospitals and is capable of working independently including leading safeguarding cases.
You must be fully registered with the GMC and on the Specialist Register, or within 6 months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.
