Job summary

The Royal Bolton Hospital is looking for a full time, enthusiastic and experienced CT Radiographer to join our CT team as an Operational Lead Radiographer. You should have proven CT imaging and staff management skills with the ability to work flexibly as required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to be a day-to-day manager of a team of enthusiastic band 5 and 6 radiographers, offering support and day to day leadership in the department.

If you have the necessary CT experience and would like the opportunity to expand your management skills this is the post for you. Successful applicants will form a core part of the CT scanning team as well as dealing with managerial and logistical aspects associated with running an efficient and patient centred service on our 4 Siemens CT scanners.

We currently undertake a wide range of examinations, including gynaecological, GU, gastro, neurological, muscular skeletal, colonography and interventional procedures.

Training will be given for more complex or department specific scans.

This post is Monday to Friday, 9-5; flexible working can be considered.

Job responsibilities

  • The post holder will be responsible for providing managerial and clinical leadership within CT in the Radiology department, coordinating, and managing a comprehensive service.
  • The post holder will provide leadership and direct line management to CT staff with support from the Principal CT Radiographer and Lead Clinician.
  • The post holder will be responsible for General line management functions including recruitment, retention of staff within CT, staff appraisal, competency assessments and management of sickness absence and leave entitlement.
  • The post holder is expected to have extensive CT experience, including evidence of teaching and/or training and running a busy CT scanner.
