Specialist Clinical Pharmacist Band 7

30 hours per week 1 WTE

Fixed term for 12 months

We are looking for a Band 7 Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, or someone who aspires to become a Band 7 specialist pharmacist and is willing to work towards this specialist post.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to manage and support the development of Clinical Pharmacy and Medicines Management initiatives across the Trust. This pharmacist will have a great opportunity to develop their specialist clinical skills within pharmacy and various clinical specialities. There is a strong focus on staff as individuals. Directly manages and supervises the professional services and activities carried out by clinical pharmacists and trainee pharmacists, technicians and support staff, to wards and departments.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring that at all times standards are maintained, particularly with respect to statutory professional and legal requirements, to ensure that a high quality service is provided in a consistent and equitable manner to all service users.

Education/ Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered with the GPhC
  • Completion of the first year of a clinical diploma

Desirable

  • Evidence of further education/ training in clinical practice
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Membership of other speciality groups i.e. UKCPA

Experience

Essential

  • Hospital Experience and ability to demonstrate medicines management at ward level
  • 1-year post registration clinical experience
  • Participation in an audit/ research project
  • Teaching/training experience
  • Evidence of completion of a departmental or trust wide procedural document or guideline

Desirable

  • Experience of writing PGDs
  • Experience of managerial responsibilities
  • Published pharmaceutical content
