Job summary

We are looking for a part time Highly Specialist Paediatric Dietitian to join ourestablished community based service of 7 Paediatric Dietitians and 2 Assistant Practitioners, working in a dynamic, integrated Family Care Division.

Main duties of the job

We deliver an integrated service across the acute and community settings.

You will manage a complex and varied caseload across hospital and community settings, including Special Schools.

You will provide highly specialist knowledge and advice to children, young people and their families, and be a source of expertise for staff, other professionals as part of the MDT and other agencies.

This role also includes identifying, initiating and implementing service developments. Together with the Team Leader and Principal Service Lead, you will lead the effective running and development of the Paediatric Dietetic service, through audit, development of policies, procedures and guidelines using evidence-based practise.

You will support the Principal Service Lead, Team Leader and other staff, and deputise at speciality meetings in the absence of senior colleagues, as required, in both management and clinical areas.

You will be involved in teaching student Dietitians whilst they are on placement in the clinical environment and supporting team members to do likewise.

You will need to be flexible in your working pattern and be able to travel between different sites to meet the needs of the client group in a variety of settings.
