We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic Speech and Language Therapist to take on this exciting opportunity to cover a seven month maternity leave cover within our mainstream complex needs and special schools teams across Bolton, starting in January 2024.
You will be working with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties.
We welcome applications from newly qualified therapists and experienced therapists Band 5. You will need to have a recognised Speech and Language therapy qualification but we welcome applications from students due to graduate. The successful applicant will be confident to work independently, have proven team working and communication skills and sound knowledge of assessment tools and therapeutic intervention relating to the caseload. Main duties of the job

You will work with a paediatric caseload with children who have Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) in mainstream and special schools.
You will need to be able to assess children using a wide range of informal and formal assessments; provide verbal and written advice; devise therapy programmes and be able to train parents and staff in different health and educational settings in the implementation of these; and also provide written advice which could be used towards Education and Health Care Plan (EHCPs) annual reviews.
You will therefore need to demonstrate good communication, interpersonal, organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.
About us
We are an innovative team and ensure that individuals have opportunities to develop and contribute according to their specific talents and interests. Preceptorship and mentorship is provided to enable you to gain your RCSLT newly qualified competencies, if you are newly qualified. Clinical supervision is available from specialist SLTs and peer support is also available.
