Job summary
Applications are invited from forward thinking, enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking MSK Physiotherapists with proven extensive MSK experience, to join a dynamic and expanding service, working within GP Practices, as a MSK First Contact Practitioner. If this sounds like you then please read on!
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work in an extended role, providing first contact to patients with MSK conditions (potentially with complex other medical needs). Working independently they will lead patient care management to include assessment, treatment and onward referral for diagnostic or secondary care services as required. They will provide and advise on a range of treatment options within the scope of practice and competence and undertake independent and supplementary prescribing and injection therapy.
Successful applicants will participate in an induction programme and get regular supervision and appraisals. There will be opportunity to develop and consolidate clinical skills in this role. A cohesive team approach is maintained thorough an established in-service training programme, peer support and regular team meetings.
The successful applicants will have proven and extensive postgraduate experience in the field of MSK Physiotherapy expertise and be able to use their own initiative and work independently. They should have the desire to teach others, have good organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks and effectively liaise with other health professionals.
Flexibility and innovation are a prerequisite for this post with a high value placed on individual initiative and responsibility. You will be required to be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and its users which could include extended hours and participation in a weekend rota.

- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- Evidence of successful completion of highly specialist courses equivalent to Master's degree level
- To have a Post graduate qualification in Injection Therapy and /or Independent prescribing.
- To have extensive experience working at band 7 level
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
Desirable
- Member of CSP
- To have relevant and up to date Irmer training

- Relevant experience during post graduate practice and extensive post registration experience to Master's level.
- Experience of planning, managing, monitoring, advising and reviewing general Physiotherapy care programmes for patients, including disease states and long term conditions.
- Extensive MSK experience.
- Experience of intergrating a broad range of interventions into practice, including injection therapy and independent prescribing, whilst also promoting non-pharmacological solutions to patients care.
