Dispensing Assistant Band 3
Full time 37.5 hours per week over 7 day working, including weekend working & Bank Holidays
Are you an experienced dispenser seeking new challenges in a clinically-orientated hospital pharmacy service or a pharmacy assistant who has completed NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services or equivalent?
Are you looking for a wide-ranging and stimulating pharmacy experience? You will gain experience in dispensing for medicines management team working on wards and also in our busy pharmacy dispensary.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a hard working individual that wants to develop their skills and become an experience dispenser. Dispensing experience is not essential as we have an excellent track record of training and developing our staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services with relevant underpinning knowledge (including unit 2.6)
- or eligible to work as pharmacy assistant under grandparent clause (RSPGB)
- or on the job training, and experience to equivalent of NVQ level 3 in dispensing practice
Desirable
- 4 passes at GCSE Grade C (or above) or CSE Grade 1 or GCE 'O' level (dual science preferred) Other level 2 or 3 NVQ in relevant areas of practice Dispensing certification eg NPA, Boots etc
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Ability to work under own initiative and with supervision
- Able to meet deadlines whilst paying attention to detail
- Satisfactory employment history
- Previous pharmacy or stores experience
- Ability to cope with occasional distressing circumstances e.g. when dealing with seriously ill patients
