The Bolton FT Podiatry service provides a dynamic, flexible, responsive and solution focussed holistic service for a patient caseload including patients with Diabetes, Rheumatology, Vascular, Connective Tissue Diseases, Tissue Viability Wound-care and Musculoskeletal conditions.
The Podiatry Service undertakes high risk clinical work including wound-care, nail surgery, biomechanics and emergency clinics; we do not provide a social nail cutting service.
We have an exciting opportunity within Bolton FT for the position of a full time apprentice Podiatrist. The post holder will be employed for the period of the apprenticeship (three years) with Bolton FT, and will undertake study at the University of Salford.
This is a developmental role. You will work towards successful completion of a BSc Degree in Podiatry and recognition by the HCPC. You will develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role of a Podiatrist within the service and through completion of the Podiatry training programme which includes working in clinic and community care settings and delivery of direct person-centred care. Whilst undertaking this training you will work within the service as a podiatry assistant.
As an apprentice podiatrist you will be based, as an employee, within Bolton working in clinical and community settings in order to gain a wide appreciation of many health and care contexts.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited from motivated individuals who are keen to begin an exciting career in Podiatry; as an apprentice you will be working in Bolton FT full time and will be released to undertake study at Salford University, where you will work alongside other students who are also undertaking the BSc in Podiatry.

As we are a community based service it is essential that you are a car driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
During the period of the Apprenticeship, the role is paid at Band 3 level for the first 18 months and Band 4 level for the final 18 months. On completion of the BSc Podiatry degree and subject to HCPC registration, the role will be uplifted to that of a permanent Band 5 Podiatrist.
