Join our dynamic team at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust as a Business Intelligence Specialist, reporting directly to the Team Leader. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise to analyze complex data, providing valuable insights and recommendations that steer senior management's decision-making process.
Our team values agility and for this role we require a presence in the office at least two days a week to facilitate essential face-to-face meetings, training, and ongoing development opportunities.
You'll represent our Business Intelligence function at both internal and external senior-level meetings, taking responsibility for submitting statutory returns in alignment with departmental standard operating procedures.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in Business Intelligence or a similar Information Team, coupled with exceptional communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and proficiency in SQL and SSRS, which you'll have the chance to further enhance.

Main duties of the job
To produce high level strategic and performance analysis, necessary to meet the delivery of national and local monitoring requirements in line with relevant NHS guidance and the delivery of modernised, evidence based services throughout the organisation.
Provide specialist knowledge and expertise across many areas of NHS information and policy, proposing changes where necessary
To build strong effective working relationships inside and outside the organisation, networking across the region and nationally where appropriate.
To design and recommend improvement measures and set up reporting mechanisms to capture relevant data on the required basis.
To provide in depth understanding and internal translation of external performance measures and indicators
To maintain a work plan for own area of responsibility which is regularly reviewed and revised, in conjunction with customers, in order to reflect complex and changing organisational priorities, which contributes to overarching departmental work programme.
Deputise for the Business Intelligence Team Leader as necessary, in the organisation of the workload of the Business Intelligence Team and ensuring the smooth running of the department.
To document and maintain standard operating procedures for all routine tasks and processes within own area of responsibility.

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Team Leader, the post holder will provide in-depth, specialist information, reports and recommendations by analysing highly complex, multi stranded data to support and direct senior management in their decision-making processes.
The post holder will represent the Business Intelligence function at senior level meetings, both internally and externally.
The post holder will be responsible for the submission of statutory returns in accordance with departmental standard operating procedures.
The post holder may supervise, train and manage more junior staff and will provide advice and guidance on business intelligence issues to colleagues both within the Business Intelligence department and externally.
The post holder is expected to be proactive in the development of their skills and knowledge.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide specialist knowledge and expertise across many areas of NHS information and policy, proposing changes where necessary
- To undertake detailed, complex investigation into sensitive areas, taking the lead in undertaking audits as and where necessary, to ensure that they are able to respond to national guidelines in the delivery of services.
- To provide support in the form of coaching and training sessions to colleagues within the organisation, including the access and interpretation of data and information.
- To generate, manipulate and formulate data into clear, concise reports which are adjusted to the needs of the recipient, from highly complex to simple reports.
- To build strong effective working relationships inside and outside the organisation, networking across the region and nationally where appropriate.
- To generate, collate and analyse benchmarking data from across the country to identify clear service disparities and propose service changes as a result
