Job summary
Bolton NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Consultant Cardiologist with a specialist interest in Pacing and Cardiac Imaging to work 11 Programmed Activities per week.
Applications are invited for this full time post based at Royal Bolton Hospital. You will join 5 existing cardiologists with interests in pacing and devices (2), heart failure (2) and cardiac imaging (1).
To be eligible to apply for this post you must be within 6 months of obtaining your CCT or already have a certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
Main duties of the job
You will support the cardiology inpatient and outpatient service at Royal Bolton Hospital and there will be the opportunity to develop the scope of the service. There is no general medical component to the job and on call for Cardiology will be 1 in 6.
The Sector Pacing lab is sited at Royal Bolton Hospital and is used for bradycardia pacing in Bolton patients and for complex device implantation in patients from Bolton, Wigan and Salford. The Cardiology/ECG Dept undertakes a full range of non-invasive investigation. Coronary intervention is undertaken in the North West Sector catheter laboratories at Wigan Infirmary and also at a local tertiary centre. Dobutamine stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography and myocardial perfusion imaging are performed on site.
You will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
You must be fully registered with the GMC and on the Specialist Register, or within 6 months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.
