Working in Aseptic Services is a vocation. It is technical, detailed, sometimes repetitive but the learning never ends.
We provide a range of injectable medicines e.g Chemotherapy and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) for patients, using isolator cabinets in a cleanroom environment.
Working as part of a team, once trained you would be responsible for making medicines using needles and syringes.
Working under supervision you also will rotate through other areas of the department e.g. stores, assembly etc. so you need to be able to follow procedures to the letter and be able to document things clearly and concisely.
No experience is necessary for the band 2 position as comprehensive training will be given.
This position offers progression from Band 2 to Band 3 after completion of training and qualification.
Only candidates with suitable experience and NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or accepted equivalent may apply for the Band 3 position.

Main duties of the job
To aseptically prepare products for patient administration. You will wear clean room clothing and be trained to work following strict clean room behaviours.
You will assemble trays containing consumables and ingredients for 1st stage checks, therefore must be able to document information clearly and accurately.
You will perform transfer sanitisation using isopropyl alcohol and other disinfectants and be responsible for cleaning equipment and areas or work on a regular basis.
Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.
