Job summary
Applications are invited from motivated, dynamic and conscientious individuals who want to work in a fast paced laboratory delivering a wide range of diagnostic tests.
You must be able to work accurately and communicate well, have excellent time management skills and a strong commitment to a high quality service.
You will provide skilled assistance to biomedical and clinical scientists, rotating throughout all sections of the department while participating in the out of hours rota.
You will need to be willing to work at both the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary and Wrightington Hospital as this role rotates between the two different sites.
Main duties of the job
- To perform pre-analytical and basic analytical tasks with BMS supervision
- To supervise, organise, allocate work for less experienced staff in own area
- To maintain clinical & laboratory records in relation to activities carried out and input/interrogate tests results of others
- To develop own skills and knowledge and undertake additional in-house training to be able to fulfil the role of an Associate Practitioner
- To participate in Out of Hours Rota as required
