Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Lower Limb Consultant within Trauma & Orthopaedics, at Fairfield general Hospital and Royal Oldham Hospital.
This is an initial 6 month post with potential for and extension which will provide an opportunity for the appointee to learn and develop subspecialty-level skill in the management of patients under the care of Orthopaedic.
Main duties of the job
As the post holder you will be in the Trauma & Orthopaedic Department cross covering across all 3 sites Working alongside an experienced team of consultants.
You will be responsible together with the specialty team for the care of inpatients and outpatients.
Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
Contribute to undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing medical and multi professional education activity including teaching as necessary.
Conduct appropriate duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
Multidisciplinary teamwork is envisaged as a key component of the working of this Trust and will involve Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussion with other colleagues.
Development of special interests that fit in with the Directorate needs and the strategic direction of the Trust.
Undertake ward rounds as appropriate.
Have an out of hours commitment to trauma patient management as part of an on-call rota. Job plan review pending implementation of Major Trauma rota.
Provide evidence-based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting.
