Main duties of the job
The Outpatient Clinic Admin Clerk/Receptionist will be responsible for providing clinic administration and reception support to patients attending Outpatient Clinics; this will include receiving and greeting patients into clinic areas whilst recording the patient's attendance and clinical outcome on Patient Centre.
The Outpatient Clinic Admin Clerk/Receptionist will also be responsible for providing an appointment booking service to enable patients to book future appointments when leaving the department, this role may develop into the booking of future appointments into other clinical disciplines (i.e. diagnostic). This may also involve some telephone booking of appointments and the scheduling of forthcoming appointments, from other sources of patient enquires, whilst providing a confidential, efficient patient-friendly service.

Essential
- Education to GCSE level or equivalent including Mathematics and English
- Computer skill qualification such as ECDL, CLAIT or equivalent experience
Desirable
- Customer Service or Administration such as an NVQ, or equivalent experience.

- Experience of working in a Reception or administrative role preferably in a health care environment with patient contact.
