Job summary
Applications are invited from highly motivated Biomedical Scientists to join the Biochemistry team at PAWS as a Band 5 Biomedical Scientist, working a rotational shift pattern to cover a 24/7 service. You will hold HCPC state registration and have experience of working in a Biochemistry laboratory.
We process in excess of 1,000,000 requests per annum and are on the cutting edge of technology. You will have the opportunity to train and develop your skills in this large department, which includes an automated section with analysers connected to a track system for sample management. Regional services are also provided in our Specialist, Mass Spectrometry and Immunology sections. Alongside the facilities at Salford there is a well-equipped Essential Service Laboratories at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary at Wigan.
Main duties of the job
Undertake the diagnostic, scientific & technical work which corresponds to the training & qualifications of a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.
Maintain competence through CPD.
Work within Trust & departmental SOPs and Policies to ensure the delivery of a safe, patient focused & high quality service.
Participate in the out of hours service and cross site working between Wigan and Salford as required.
