An exciting opportunity has opened to become part of the Allied Health Professions leadership team for acute services at Bury Care Organisation.
This post is suitable for an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Physiotherapist already in a leadership position or a therapist who has significant clinical experience looking to make their next career step.
The role includes operational management of a team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists at Fairfield General Hospital, across a specific clinical area (stroke) and as well as providing professional leadership across the AHP directorate. For applicants currently in a clinical role, there will be the opportunity to work within your professional role and the clinical specialty.
would welcome applicants who have the evidence of skills and training at a Band 7 level or those already in an existing leadership position. To develop your career, the successful applicant will gain experience in a busy and changing environment where there is a proactive approach to evidence-based practice, service development and continuing professional development. Applicants will also be supported to develop both your clinical and strategic leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
o To provide professional support for across an AHP staff group and clinical support within specialty (stroke),
o To provide operational management and evaluation of the physiotherapy and occupational therapy service.
o To contribute to future plans and service development initiatives across the stroke pathway.
o To manage staffing issues, recruitment and retention, workforce and succession planning.
o To monitor/manage quality indicators and response times for your service.
o To be responsible for clinical governance issues: to undertake risk assessments; to investigate incidents; and resolve complaints.
o The service is working towards a 7-day model and as such you will be expected to be flexible in terms of working patterns including weekends, bank holidays and extra hours if necessary.
