We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 7 Team Leader to work within the Children's Long Term Ventilation and Complex Needs Team, (CLTVT)) in Oldham. This post is full time, fixed term for 12 months.

The post holder will be instrumental in initiating and leading change, and embrace the responsibility of professional leadership and advice, in both the development and coordination of the team within the children's community nursing services and relevant clinical networks.

Successful candidates must have demonstrable experience at Band 6/7. Community experience is essential however consideration will be given to applicants without should suitable evidence of leadership and clinical expertise be provided.

The post holder will be based at the Integrated Care Centre, Oldham.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have responsibility for the development, co-ordination and delivery of care packages for children and young people (C&YP) who utilise a ventilator or tracheostomy to assist their breathing and have complex and/or life limiting conditions, in partnership with the child / young person, their carers and other agencies involved.

The post holder will be responsible in providing operational leadership to all CLTVT staff within the service, support and guide staff with caseload management, mentoring and developing the workforce to meet the changing needs of the patients on the caseload.

In addition the post holder will provide a flexible and accessible service that is responsive to the needs of the child, young people and their family, whilst taking part in on call rota to support the service (2 out of 4 weeks up to 10.30 pm and all day Saturday and Sunday).
