Job summary
The Domestic Assistant is an important member of the team who helps provide a range of duties across the hospital in a professional manner. You will be part of a team working within our Estates and Facilities department, offering a high quality, flexible and customer focused service.
Our priority is to provide the very highest standard of cleanliness to the whole hospital site. You will be provided with appropriate training to ensure that you understand the principles of infection control, the importance of cleanliness in a hospital environment and the standards that are to be met and maintained.
The following positions are available:
Saturday + Sunday 7.00am to 13.15pm - 12hrs pw
Monday to Friday 7.00am to 10.00am - 15hrs pw
Monday to Friday 17.00pm to 20.00pm - 15hrs pw
Monday to Friday 17.00pm to 20.00pm - 15hrs pw
Monday to Friday 17.00pm to 20.00pm - 15hrs pw
Monday to Friday 16.30pm to 21.30pm - 25hrs pw
Main duties of the job
As a Domestic Assistant you will be responsible for the following
- Carrying out specific cleaning and other related duties to set procedures and standards. On the job training will be provided.
- Ensure infection control policies are adhered to
- Follow Trust policies & procedures.
- Work as part of a team, using a degree of initiative to prioritise and organise the daily duties, whilst always maintaining a professional approach.
- Ensure the cleanliness of clinical and non-clinical areas is maintained to the required standards
- Establish and maintain good working relationship and clear lines of communication with team managers, matrons, ward staff and all visitors to the trust.
- Ensure the correct, safe and economical use of provisions, materials and equipment
